Objective

The purpose of the course
Web application development is an exceptionally fast-changing and evolving field. Are you interested in learning about the latest trends in web development and considering their importance in the future? Do you want to deepen your knowledge of some of the technologies you already know? The technology seminar introduces the latest technologies or deepens what has been learned before. Technologies are tested and their significance and need for expertise are considered.

The aim is for the student to expand or deepen their web application development skills by getting acquainted with the latest and most current technologies in the field. The student is able to evaluate and justify the solutions he / she has made in application development work and is able to act as a technical consultant in tasks related to web application development.

Each student produces their own content for the themes selected.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of web application development.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

(Sufficient 1) The student prepares learning material about his / her theme and presents the theme. He has tried to do all the exercises and reached the result determined by the instructions in at least 50% of the tasks.

(Satisfactory 2) The student prepares learning material about his / her theme and presents the theme. He has tried to do all the exercises and reached the result determined by the instructions in at least 70% of the tasks.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

(Good 3) The student prepares learning material about his or her theme and presents the theme. The study material is of high quality and the tasks are well planned. He has tried to do all the exercises and reached the result specified in the instructions in at least 80% of the tasks.

(Commendable 4) The student prepares learning material about his or her theme and presents the theme. The study material is of high quality and the tasks are well planned. He has tried to complete all the exercises and reached the result specified in the instructions in at least 90% of the tasks.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

(Excellent 5) In addition to the previous requirements, the student is able to critically and reasonably evaluate the technology he / she presents. He has completed all the exercises and reached the end result specified in the instructions.

Execution methods

Students choose a theme from which to create learning material for GitHub. The study material should include two or more exercises that can be completed to get acquainted with the topic. Students act as instructors in a workshop lasting about 3-4 hours, at the beginning of which the theme is introduced and then it is introduced by doing it together. For example, a development environment is set up, code examples are made and exercise tasks are started.

The course can be approved in full or in part on the basis of previously acquired competence. Previously acquired skills must be presented to the teacher on a personal screen.
