Objective

In this course you will learn the principles of instructing physical activity for early childhood and support growth and development

You are able to plan and instruct meaningful physical group activity to children with different ages.
You know the meaning of physical activity for child`s growth and development. You are able to choose physical activity tasks and plays concerning child`s developmental milestones. You understand how to support child`s inclusion in physical activity group

Perceptual skills, motor skills and socio-emotional factors
Physical activity preferences of children and goals for early childhood physical activity
physical activity tasks and plays concerning child`s developmental milestones
Instructing sessions for children

Qualifications

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

You are able to choose tasks and plays concerning child`s age and capacity and give arguments supporting your choices
You are able to instruct physical activity session for children and use suitable pedagogical instructing methods to support inclusion

This course is part of the qualification of early childhood education and social pedagogy (total 60 cr).
