Objective
The students know the requirements for a good management information system and understand how a system meeting the needs for enterprise resource planning in a company or organisation must be. They know the prerequisites for the successful introduction of an enterprise resource planning system (ERP) and familiarise themselves above all with an ERP system used in SMEs. Upon completion of the course, the students are able to identify an ERP system suitable for the company and to utilise the information produced by the system comprehensively in different business decision-making situations.
Content
Management information system, ERP systems and challenges in their introduction and development, SAP Business One system and its use, other systems.
Financial administration, logistics, sales, marketing, customer and supplier management, human resource management and production control. The course includes both system competence and content competence in business management.
Qualifications
Students know methods supporting the strategy process of financial administration.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
1 (Sufficient): The student knows the requirements of a good management information system and understands what type of system would cover an organisation’s ERP needs.
2 (Satisfactory): He/she knows what is required for a successful introduction of an ERP System.
3 (Good): The student is able to determine the appropriate ERP System for a company and make reasoned proposals for its adoption.
4 (Very good): The student is able to determine the appropriate ERP System for a company and to use the information produced by the system.
5 (Excellent): The student is able to determine the appropriate ERP System for a company and to use the information produced by the system extensively in various decision-making situations.
