Objective
The students have the capabilities of handling design and development projects emphasizing the different viewpoints of competitive operations.
Content
Strategic basic abilities (starting from ’isms’, e.g. BPR, BSC, CE, CIM, Constraint Theory, JIT, Kaizen, Lean). Design of a production plant and production processes. Investments and their economical grounds. Design project and design systematics. Design tools (e.g. simulation including applied mathematical statistics).
Qualifications
The students have a general view of the production of manufacturing industry and its development.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Very good (4-5): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills required to get the grade Good (3) and can apply the knowledge acquired in a critical and innovative manner to design and development tasks.
Good (3): The student masters the application of design and development theories and tools when solving problems related to design and development tasks even in more complicated cases.
Satisfactory (1-2): The student is familiar with the basic design and development theories but can apply them only in a satisfactory manner when solving problems related to design and development tasks.
