Objective

Objectives:
· Mastering educational cooperation basics, techniques and operating methods in early childhood education.
- Understanding the everyday lives of families and parenthood and knowing the significance of these in terms of supporting the well-being of children.
· Being able to implement educational cooperation, interact with different parents and support their participation in educational cooperation.
· Understanding the starting points and significance of multidisciplinary cooperation in supporting children and families and being able to operate in multidisciplinary networks.
- Being familiar with the key services provided for families with children and mastering service guidance.
- Understanding the goals and tasks of the roles of bachelors of social services and welfare officers in early childhood education and being able to support the balanced development of children, learning and parenthood.

Contents:
· The starting points, forms and methods of educational cooperation
· Everyday life and parenthood in families with children
· Support for parenthood and participation in educational cooperation
· Support for children’s well-being and learning together with guardians
· Transdisciplinary co-operation
· Services for families with children and service guidance
· The tasks and goals of the roles of bachelors of social services and welfare officers in early childhood education

Qualifications

You are familiar with early childhood education services and you know factors affecting child development and well-being. You know the laws and documents governing early childhood education.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient 1
You are able to name services for families with children and you know some principles of educational cooperation and transdisciplinary work. You know the job description of bachelors of social services and welfare officers in early childhood education. In addition to this, you also know factors that affect children’s well-being and the principles of service guidance. You produce text that is partially in compliance with JAMK University of Applied Sciences reporting instructions.

Satisfactory 2
You are able to describe services for families with children and you know some principles and methods of educational cooperation and transdisciplinary work. You can describe the job description of bachelors of social services and welfare officers in early childhood education. In addition to this, you also know factors that affect children’s well-being and ability to learn and the principles of service guidance. You produce text that is partially in compliance with JAMK University of Applied Sciences reporting instructions.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3
You are able to describe and illustrate services for families with children and you know some principles, forms and methods of educational cooperation and transdisciplinary work. You are able to describe and illustrate the job description and tasks of bachelors of social services and welfare officers in early childhood education. In addition to this, you also master factors that affect children’s well-being and ability to learn and the principles of service guidance. You produce text in compliance with JAMK University of Applied Sciences reporting instructions.

Very good 4
You are able to describe and illustrate services for families with children in a structured manner and you know some principles, forms and methods of educational cooperation and transdisciplinary work. You master the key tasks and goals of bachelors of social services and welfare officers in early childhood education. In addition to this, you also master factors that affect children’s well-being and ability to learn and are able to take the families’ participation into account in your work. You master services for families with children and work in compliance with the principles of service guidance. You produce text in compliance with JAMK University of Applied Sciences reporting instructions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5
You are able to describe and illustrate services for families with children in an analytical manner and you know some principles, forms and methods of educational cooperation and transdisciplinary work. You master the key tasks and goals of bachelors of social services and welfare officers in early childhood education. In addition to this, you also master factors that affect children’s well-being and ability to learn and are able to take the families’ participation into account in your work. You master services for families with children and work in compliance with the principles of service guidance. You examine phenomena critically and apply your own thinking. You produce text in compliance with JAMK University of Applied Sciences reporting instructions.

Further information

This course is part of the qualification of early childhood education and social pedagogy (total 60 cr).

Execution methods

The course is implemented in the form of online teaching. The student may apply for accreditation based on corresponding competence acquired either in previous studies or in working life following the accreditation practices described in the study guide.
