Purpose of the course:

Public procurement in Finland is approximately 47 billion EUR annually. Impact on the society is very significant. For this reason, it is important that public procurement is carried out in a smart way. This course creates an understanding of the significance of public procurement and also appropriate implementation methods.

Student understands the significance and strategic role of public procurement. Student understands special features set by the operating environment of the public sector from the perspective of procurement. Student recognizes the regulations set by Procurement Law, especially regarding the tendering process. In addition, students learn how public procurement can promote sustainable development and create new innovations.
