Employer connections

Assignments, doing one real assignment of the real company. The assignment is completed in groups of 2-4 students during the times scheduled for the course. The students will independently find a company which either has adopted a quality system or which plans to do so. The assignment can also be on other than ISO 9000 based quality systems. The teacher will assist you in finding this target company. All kind of companies is compatible for this project-case: Social and Health Care, Health Care Business, Travelling Business, Hotels and Restaurants, Marketing Offices, Education, and of course; All International Business.

Lectures “face to face" 12 h by Matti + group works "hybrid" 12 h by Matti's Zoom) and
independent study 48 h / Assignments, doing one real assignment of the real company.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory (1-2): Poor mastery of the learning objectives of the course, the idea of the subject is fragmentary. Acceptable documentation and presentation of the project.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3-4): The student masters well the essential learning objectives of the course. The group work is well documented and presented.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5) : The student has a clear overall idea of the subject and he/she is able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the group work. The project document is high quality and the seminar presentation gives a clear view of the project.

Lectures “face to face" by Matti Mieskolainen / "hybrid" by Matti Mieskolainen's Zoom +

The assignment is completed in groups of 2-4 students during the times scheduled for the course.

The primary modes of delivery are face-to-face/hybrid-model (by Zoom) learning, distance learning (e.g. virtual lectures, virtual studies) and combined face-to-face and distance learning.

Location and time

Contact lessons on Wednesdays:
14-16 o`clock (hopefully face to face / Dynamo, Piippukatu 2, Jyväskylä, class D436 & paraller Zoom) +
16-18 o`clock (flexible teamwork time; face to face & paraller Zoom, still available class D436).

Content

Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, EFQM and BSC), including personnel management, resources management and corporate results.

Objective

The student is familiar with present and future Quality Systems and their introduction. In practice they are acquainted with the control of corporate processes, the efficient and effective management of processes, and the deploying of staff, resources and funds.
