During the course we will also visit a Finnish esports organizations headquarters. You can also do your own research on a specific organization or arrange your own visit to them.

Total workload: 135 hours

Lectures & class sessions: 28 hours
Pre- and post-class assignments: 62 hours
Final project: 20 hours
Intensive days: 15 hours
Esports organization visit: 10 hours

Content scheduling

The lessons will be held at GamePit Pro, with the option to join via Teams.

Three intensive days will be held during April/May.
Intensive days are held at GamePit Pro. There will be compensatory assignment if you are not able to attend.

Content

This course is designed for students looking to enhance both their esports performance and academic success. It focuses on developing transferable skills that are valuable in competitive gaming, studies, and professional careers. Key themes include self-leadership, team communication, performance optimization, and critical thinking.

Objective

The course develops students’ competencies in self-development, performance optimization, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and decision-making. Students will learn to apply structured training and self-improvement methods to enhance their esports performance and learning efficiency. They will develop the ability to work effectively in teams, communicate in high-pressure situations, and provide constructive feedback to teammates. Additionally, they will analyze gameplay data, optimization, and make informed decisions under pressure.

By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Apply effective time management and learning strategies in esports and academics
- Improve in-game communication and teamwork skills
- Analyze and optimize their gaming performance using data-driven approaches
- Develop stress management techniques and mental skills
- Complete an independent final project focused on personal development in esports
