Descriptions
After graduation, you will be able to lead and renew organizations and work communities. You are able to evaluate and develop your own leadership and career in a goal-oriented manner. You understand the importance of strategy in organizational management and are able to formulate strategies for the national and/or international operating environment. You promote and lead your work community and organisation ethically and in accordance with the values of sustainable development. You utilise financial management in supervisor work, identifying and analysing development needs. You master the advanced knowledge base of your own field of expertise and are able to create new information, taking into account the perspectives of different fields of science. You are able to critically evaluate information and take care of your own and your work community's continuous competence development. You are able to apply research and development methods in your management work to produce new and forward-looking solutions.
In the management studies of the organisational and financial management, you will develop the management of the work community and finances in a digitalising society by utilising research data. In organisational management studies, you will develop leadership and responsibility as well as the management of a diverse work community. In financial management studies, you will focus on the ethics of financial management, strategic and public sector financial management, and international financial management.
Development
The learning outcomes of the curriculum of the Master's Degree Programme in Management are based on national and international foresight and benchmarking data as well as evaluation materials for higher education (e.g. EPAS, FINEEC). The curriculum has been developed using the national and European Qualifications Framework (NQF7/EQF7) as well as Arene's recommendations for common master's degree competencies and Jamk's sustainable development.
The RDI activities of JAMK University of Applied Sciences carry out high-quality research and development activities regionally, nationally and internationally with other higher education institutions, organisations in different fields and research institutes. The business unit is an active member of the international UN PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) community and the European EUDRES (European University Alliance) network, which enables not only research cooperation but also the development of education and teaching.
The Master's degree programme is developed in a multidisciplinary perspective and together with business partners. The Advisory Board consisting of working life supports the competitiveness of the university in the operating environment, for example by actively participating in curriculum planning. The study module is developed annually based on AVOP feedback given by graduating students. Master's degree students and alumni actively participate in the dialogue, supporting the development of education, for example. through various feedback channels.
