Objective
The students recognize the factors affecting the performance and service level of a production plant or corresponding fixed assets during product life cycle, and can consider these in their decision-making. They understand the economic connections between maintenance strategies and finances, and can take into account cost factors during the life cycle, and analyse and develop operations based on them. They master management in line with technology strategies and can also apply the principles of sustainable development in their activities.
Content
Product life cycle and life time period. Management of performance at life cycle stages, approaches to its management. Reliability analysis and balancing the elements of performance in relation to life cycle costs. Product and the environment. Assignment: analysing a case product or system's life cycle stages.
