Objective

The students know the significance of active devices for a company’s data security and can design secure network solutions. They are thoroughly familiar with different data security technologies of operating systems, and understand and can apply them. They can identify potential threats to data security in Windows/Linux networks.

Content

Focus is on the data security of data communication devices and its improvement. The significance of data communication devices and server systems for a company’s data security. Battery eliminators, data security devices, e.g. fire walls and IDS systems, wireless network data security, auditing data security, tightening system settings, system updates, safe network communication, and PKI certificates.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent 5: The student masters the design of enterprise data security and he (she) can creatively realize data security solutions for SME level.
Very good 4: The student masters the design of enterprise data security and he (she) can realize data security solutions for SME level.

Good 3: The student masters the basics of data security design and he (she) can realize data security for SME level.
Satisfactory 2: The student recognizes the most common data security threats and he (she) can realize basic data security for SME level.
Sufficient 1: The student recognizes the most common data security threats and he (she) can configure data security components.
