Objective
The students
 •	know the main components, processes and individual devices of a power plant,
 •	understand the main principles of the operation of a power plant complex
 •	know central material flows and their interdependences
 •	understand industrial production processes and the functionality of their automation
 •	are aware of the central control circuits and their operation

Content
equipment technique and structure of a power plant, power plant processes and their controls

Qualifications
Basics control of physics and chemistry, control engineering, automation systems and measuring technology

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Very good (4-5): The student understands the power plant process as a whole and is able to identify comprehensively the versatile automation mechanisms which control the power plant.

Good (3): The student understands the complexity of a power plant and identifies individual processes there. The operation models of individual processes and circuits are understood.

Satisfactory (1-2): The student knows the basic structures, material flows and operations of a power plant.
