Objective
The students
 •know the implementation and significance of common client-side WWW technologies 
 •know WWW standards
 • know the basics of server-side implementation
 • understand the restrictions caused by WWW technologies to applications 
 • master the basics of HTML, XHTML, XML, MySQL and PHP technologies
 • can apply their knowledge to implement applications connected to a WWW-based automation system

the basic principles of WWW programming 
 • basics of client-server technology 
 • HTML and XHTML languages 
 • basics of XML 
 • introduction to MySQL database server
 • the basic use of a MySQL database server
 • the use of SQL language to implement basic inquiries
 • basics of WWW server programming with PHP language
 • the basic syntaxt of PHP
 • the use of PHP to read external data files
 • the use of PHP to process data in a MySQL database
                    
Qualifications
Basics of programming and a basic ability to use a web browser
                    
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Very good (4-5):  The student masters the above-mentioned learning objectives of the course and can implement them independently.
 Good (3): The student has achieved the above-mentioned learning objectives of the course.
 Satisfactory (1-2): The student knows basically the learning objectives of the course but the independent implementation of the knowledge and skills is inadequate.
