Basics of Electronics (5cr)
Course unit code: IIZE2020
General information
- Credits
- 5 cr
- Teaching language
- Finnish
Objective
The students can design a simple embedded device. They have a basic knowledge of the scaling of an analog sensor signal to digital. An actuator is controlled with processed sensor data, which requires a basic understanding of control electronics.

Content
Passive componets, diode and rectification, transistor as coupler (BJT and FET), basics of operational amplifier

Qualifications
- voltage division, impedance as a concept
 - basics of theoretical electrical engineering

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Excellent 5: The student masters comprehensively the theory of the course and he (she) can creatively apply the theory when completing the assignment of the course.
Very good 4: The student knows the learning objectives of the course and can apply the theory well when completing the assignment of the course.
Good 3: The student is familiar with the usage of the passive components, can use a transistor as a switch and he (she) can make the basic circuits with operational amplifiers.
Satisfactory 2: The student is familiar with the basic knowledge and skills covered by the course but the application of them is inadequate.
Sufficient 1: The student is poorly familiar with the basic knowledge and skills covered by the course and the application of the theory is inadequate.
