Objective

The student has mastered monitoring, examination, control and nursing methods, which are based on gynaecological nursing qualification. The student is competent of providing guidance to women and their partners in the field of resource-based sexual and reproductive health. The student handles the methods of promoting sexual and reproductive health of an individual/ a family / a community.
The student is familiar with the history of midwifery, its role and significance in a society, and understands the responsibilities of midwifery. He or she is operating in line with ethical values of midwifery, and is capable of monitoring his or her professional growth.

The professional studies of the Degree Programme in Nursing 114 cr.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5): The student demonstrates that he or she has mastered the evidence-based knowledge base in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion. The student can evaluate this competence critically and shows creative thinking. By applying the mastered knowledge the student can resolve learning tasks in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion in a creative manner by developing new operating methods. He or she can apply the obtained knowledge by providing excellent analysis and linking it to information subsequently required for performing tasks of midwifery. The tasks associated with midwifery are logical, and the student is capable of combining matters in a consistent manner and with excellent arguments.
Very good (4): The student demonstrates that he or she has mastered the evidence-based knowledge base in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion. He or she can provide a critical evaluation of this competence. By applying the mastered knowledge the student can creatively resolve learning tasks in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion. He or she can apply the obtained knowledge through analysing and linking it to information subsequently required for performing tasks of midwifery. The tasks associated with midwifery are logical, and the student is capable of combining matters in a consistent and argumented manner.
Good (3): The student demonstrates his or her knowledge of the evidence-based knowledge base in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion. He or she can provide a sound evaluation of the competence. By applying the mastered knowledge the student can resolve learning tasks in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion, but the development aspect is deficient. The student can apply the acquired knowledge in midwifery linking it to the current need for information. The tasks associated with midwifery are logical, and the student is capable of combining matters in an argumented manner.
Satisfactory (2): The student demonstrates his or her knowledge of the basic skills in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion. The student can evaluate his or her competence in a superficial manner. By applying the mastered knowledge the student can resolve learning tasks in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion, but the development aspect is lacking. The student can apply the acquired knowledge in midwifery linking it to the current need for information. The tasks associated with midwifery are illogical and the arguments concerning the matter are insufficient.
Adequate (1): The student demonstrates his or her knowledge of the basic skills in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion. The student evaluates his or her competence in a highly superficial manner, or the evaluation aspect is completely lacking. By applying the obtained knowledge the student can resolve learning tasks in gynaecological nursing and sexual and reproductive health promotion in a superficial manner. The student can apply the acquired knowledge, but the links to the information required in midwifery are insufficient. The tasks associated with midwifery are illogical and the arguments concerning the matter are lacking.
