Objective
The student understands different factors related to development of resources in different age groups and meaning of communal and social interaction to wellbeing and health in different phases of life, and to the emergence of the need for welfare services.
The student recognizes the basic values of social and health services and is able to apply professional ethics in customer service and communication. The student knows the central contents of the legislation related to the position and rights of a client and s/he is able to guide clients to the services required by the legislation.
The student knows international conventions and agreements, and is able to utilize international information sources and channels related to the clients of health and social services. In Addition, s/he is able to cooperate with individuals who come from different cultural backgrounds.
Content
An individual and a family as a client in welfare services. The values and ethical principles in customer service, customer oriented service process and encountering different patients/clients. The position and rights of a patient is health and social services, and related central legislation. International agreements and information sources in client work in health and social services.
