Objective

-student recognizes the importance of the space for the user.
-student understands user-orientation as a starting point for space development.
- student understands that user-orientation in Facilities requires User- and Facility services designed for Facilities.
-student takes into account the needs and experiences of the user in the development of the Facilities
-student can observe the environment
¬- student understands the importance of the built cultural environment for the user
-student knows concepts of usability, user-centered design, user-orientation and concepts related to real estate business

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The general assessment criteria for competence produced by the degree programme in Hospitality Management are available on the website (https://opinto-oppaat.jamk.fi/en/). The learning outcomes of the course are assessed in relation to the learning objectives based on the knowledge, skills and general competencies (National and European Qualifications Framework, level 6).

- Identify the importance of the space for the user as an operating environment
- is familiar with concepts of spaces
-Is familiar with concepts of real estate business
- Identify the usability and user-centric factors of the operating environment
- is familiar with the real estate and user services

2 (satisfactory)
Student
- Understands the importance of usability and user-centeredness in work environments
- Know user-centered work environments consisting of facilities and real estate- and user services
- knows the concepts usability, user-orientation, user-centeredness and the concepts of real estate business
- knows the factors to consider when designing user-oriented spaces

In addition to the core competence required for grades 1 and 2, the student meets the below requirements and is able to apply the acquired learning in practice.

Student
-can use space concepts, usability, user-orientation, user-centricity, and real estate business concepts
- is able to describe the basic qualities of user-oriented spaces and apply his or her competence in the development of spaces
- is able to observe the environment

4 (Very good)

The student can observe and evaluate the built cultural environment from the perspective of functionality, experience, security, national cultural heritage and aesthetics

In addition to the core competence required for grades 3 (Good) and 4 (Very good), the student meets the requirements given below and is able to apply the acquired learning in practice.

- is able to gather inspiration from spaces and experiences for sketching inspirational environments
