Objective
The student

-is aware of the international nature of the real estate business and the real estate market and understands his or her own role as an active actor in the field

Qualifications
-is able to identify the needs of the users of a facility
-knows the concepts of the user-oriented approach and usability and their application to facilities and facility services
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The general assessment criteria for the skills and knowledge of a Hospitality Management degree can be found on the website (http://jamk.fi/opiskelijoille/opinto-opas). The learning outcomes of the course are assessed in relation to the learning objectives of each course, based on the knowledge, skills and general competencies (National and European Qualifications Framework, level 6).
Sufficient 1
The student can identify those working in the real estate business and their roles. The student understands the international nature of the field. He understands the field of studies, but is not able apply his knowledge in assignments. His participation in group work is minimal.
Satisfactory 2
- The student is familiar with those working in the field as well as the international nature of the field, and is able to identify dynamics in the field
- The student knows the basic concepts of the real estate business
Good 3
In addition to the core skills required for grades 1– 2, the student masters the issues described below and is able to apply what he or she has learned:
- The student masters the basic concepts of the real estate business and facility management well
- The student can create a model of the field and those working in the field, the roles and interests of the parties, and his or her own role as someone working in the field in the future
- The student is able to evaluate the development of the field
Very good 4
- The student is able to create development ideas for the field
- The student understands the significance of facility and real estate strategies as a part of a company's strategy process
Excellent 5
In addition to the core skills required for the grades (good)–4 (very good), the student masters the issues described below and is able to apply what he or she has learned:
- The student is able to evaluate the future outlook of the field
- The student can form an opinion on his or her own role as someone working in the field and is able to utilise it in planning his or her studies
- The student identifies new business opportunities in the field
- The student is able to utilise research information in developing the field
