Objective

The student
- internalises the key concepts and principles of strategic management as well as leadership of a service enterprise, and is able to apply strategic thinking in decision-making.
- is able to observe responsible business operations from a strategic viewpoint and to develop business by utilising analysis tools.
- understands the connection of strategic competence management, and is able to apply the methods into service enterprise context also at the operative level.
-knows the strategic level planning principles of a service enterprise's financing, marketing and human resource functions.

The learning outcomes of a course will be assessed in accordance with its learning objectives on the basis of the skills and knowledge and general competences specified in The National and European Quality Management Systems (NQF/EQF, level 6). Referring to the learning objectives of the course, the following levels are required:
5 = The student shows excellence in applying theory into practice in multiple ways. The student is capable of critical and analytical arguments in terms of strategic management theories. The student shows innovative approach.
4 = The student understands the link between theory and practice of the strategic management. The student utilizes the analysed knowledge and argues critically for development ideas in terms of strategic management theories.
3= The students is able to utilize strategic understanding by arguing it into theory and practice
2 = The student understands the concepts and basic principles of strategic management in both theoretical and practical manner.
1 = The student can define the basic concepts of strategic management. The student’s understanding of the concepts and basic principles applied to strategic management is insufficient.
All the areas of strategic management must be completed satisfactorily. Late return of the assignments will lead to a grade decrease.
