Objective

The students are familiar with the central points of family and inheritance law as well as with marital property theories. They are able to produce documents related to family and inheritance rights: deed, deed of estate inventory, and deed of partition. They are also able to apply inheritance and gift tax law.

Content

Order of inheritance, factors determining inheritance right, legal actions during the life and on the death of the testator, will, estate administration and distribution of inheritance, marital property system, divorce, division of property , child's position: obligation to provide maintenance, maintenance and visiting rights, cohabitation without marriage, basics of wardship, institutions pertaining to family law, transfer of a farm to a descendant

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Class participation, individual/group reporting skills, individual/group presentation skills, teamwork skills. Mastery of the subject, analysing and problem solving skills in written exam/assignments/reports.
