Objective

The student is familiar with the basic principles of value-added tax legislation and the most essential regulations, and is able to apply them to practical taxation situations. The student understands the meaning of EU internal market in value-added taxation and knows where to get information concerning the value-added taxation in intra-community transactions. The student understands the reporting duties connected to tax liability. The aim is to develop the student’s data acquisition skills so that he or she is able to solve questions related to special problems concerning value-added taxation or knows where to get tax counselling.

Content

Tax liability, taxable sales and exemptions to tax, private use, taxable amount, tax rates, deductible tax, special topics related to value-added tax, value-added tax in foreign trade, and issues related to registration and book entries, calculation of tax, reporting and payments, and cooperation with authorities.
