Objective

The course gives the students practical insight into Sport and Event business globally and in Finland. Main focus is in Conceptualization of an event and marketing of an event as well as marketing with an event. The core content is divided under two main topics. The two main objectives are Event management planning and Marketing strategies in Sport Events.

Content

Overall Event Management Planning
Managing Event Planning Schedules;

Feasibility Studies, Identifying Event Goals and Listing Objectives, Event Organisational Charts, Duty Rosters, Record Keeping Mechanisms, Recruitment, Reviewing Event Contracts and Agreements, Troubleshooting Event Co-ordination, Creation and Presentation of Proposals to Clients.

Sport Event and Marketing strategies

Technical aspects in Event Management, Content aspects in Event Management, Marketing Event Principles, Marketing the Event, Marketing Sports Events, Special features of Sports Events, Feasibility and Budgeting for Sports Events, Sports Event Sponsorship, Broadcasting & Communication for Sports Events, Impact & Legacy of Sports Events, An Overview of Event Risk Management, Public Relations

2 years of studies in Business management

The students are assessed based on the capability they show in:
- understanding the key concepts and tools covered by the course material and lectures
- applying the learning to individual business cases in the course assignments and discussions

1 Sufficient E
0 Fail F
Grades are divided into five subgroups, which are not applied (the best 10% are awarded an A-grade, the next 25% a B-grade, the following 30% a C-grade, the following 25% a D-grade and the final 10% an E-grade).
