Publishing and Image Processing (3cr)

Objective

The students are able to use the basic tools of bitmap graphic editors, e.g. MSPaint, Microsoft Office PictureManager and Corel PhotoPaint. The chief aim is to gain the ability to produce technically and visually high-quality graphics.

Content

The (technical) formation of images, image transformations and editing, resolution, size, masking, accentuation, special effects, image format, and saving. Scanners, digital cameras and photos, production of pictures based on various source materials. Production of images for e.g. web pages (logos, buttons, backgrounds).
Individual assignment in line with the instruction: a publication, e.g. poster, cd cover, book cover.

Qualifications

The students master basic computer use, e.g. the opening and saving of files, and the basic terms of IT.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Assessment is based on knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the National and European Qualifications Framework, Level 6.The assessment criteria for individual courses are given in an annex to the implementation plan of the course.
