Objective
The students have a view on the structure and function of modern market economy. They are familiar with basic economic concepts. They are able to make microeconomic decisions and understand the factors which affect economic activity at the microeconomic level. They also understand the major variables that make up the macroeconomic environment and the effect that such variables can have on business operations. The students are able to make macroeconomic policy suggestions at the basic level.
Content
Micro-economic principles concentrating on the supply and demand framework, highlighting the background of consumer behaviour. The macroeconomic part will cover the determination of GDP, inflation, unemployment, the business cycle, and macroeconomic policy.
