Project Studies (6cr)

Objective

The students of business administration complete 5-10 cr of workplace projects. The project is always approved in advance and guided by teachers. The project can be e.g. a fair, the organization of an event, a marketing or customer survey, bookkeeping, development of cost control, or an assignment related to JUA’s R&D projects. Before starting the project, the students write a project description, which is approve by the tutor, a potential assigner, and the student. The students create a project plan and a final report, as well as intermediate reports, based on the discretion of the tutor or assigner. The project is a one-time assignment.
The students chosen to the Cutting edge of international business (Kansainvälisen liiketoiminnan kärki) option carry out time-wise limited development projects for a partner company in order to deepen professional competence.

Content

Project planning and management, application of project management tools (software applications; Microsoft Office Project, project management)
Exercises (application of one's own thesis/development project with project management tools).

Qualifications

Project Skills course of the basic studies. Sufficient theoretical knowledge of a chosen area of business competence.
