Manufacturing Automation (5cr)

Objective

The students know the operation principles of an automatic assembly line, the properties of conveyors and robots, as well as related automation. They are able to design basic controls for robots and conveyors and to use programmable logic controllers for the controls of a flexible assembly line. They are able to design controls for automation laboratory devices.

Content

The sub-areas of manufacturing automation:
robotics, manipulators, proximity switches, escort memories, RFID-devices, conveyors, pneumatic and electrical controls, programmable logics.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of the programming of programmable logic controllers
