Network Service Management (3cr)

Objective

The students understand the technical requirements for the implementation of network services and the significance of different server software as the environments of network services. They can implement different network services especially in the WWW environment.

Content

The installation of Linux in a network environment, its basic use, installation of software, management of users and access rights. Data security and remote control of an operating system. Definition and management of network services. Management of a WWW server: basic operations, optional features, PHP environment, SSL encryption. Management of database management systems and their connection to network services. Utilisation of free applications.
