WAN-Technology (5cr)

Objective

The students know the principles and standards of central WAN technologies, and can apply them to practice in the design and implementation of WAN. They are able to implement the basic configuration of the most common WAN networks.

Content

Various WAN technologies (X. 25, Routing, Frame Relay, MPLS), routing protocols (IGRP, RIP, BGP, OSPF), redundant data security in routing (HSRP Hot Standby Routing Protocol), data transfer solutions (PDH/SDH, optical fibre technology) and applied components (routers and ATM keys). The students can also design LAN-IC solutions over WAN networks.
