Basics of Perl Programming (6cr)

Objective

The students master the general principles and stages of programming. They are able to analyse simple problems and present the answers using a programming language. They can also utilise the tools supporting programming (compilers, editors, electronic help files, debuggers). They understand the key concepts and terminology of relational databases and are able to read and write data into a relational database using ready-made programming interfaces. Exercises on e.g. data parsing and the processing of XML files.
