Objective
The students know the main teaching methods and materials of their own main instrument and are able to develop and adapt them. They are familiar with teaching and with a teacher's work. They are familiar with learning guidance and evaluation in practical teaching and have been drilled therein in work situtations.
Content
Teaching goals in the instrument's elemental level, teaching materials and methods. Command of the typical teaching situation. Guidance and evaluation of diverse students.
Qualifications
The students are familiar with the basics in music education and understand the diverse music learning conceptions. They understand the significance of study plans as a basis for teaching. They are familiar with the Music Institute activity and team work. They are prepared for developing reflective teaching attitudes and understand the principles of portfolio work.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Portfolio evaluation: by the teacher and others teachers following the teaching practice, peer-evaluation and self-evaluation. Acceptance criterion: The students have formed for themselves a substantiated understanding of instrumental teaching's challenges, goals and work methods. They are able to guide students on a long range basis. They are able to bring up in an orderly manner their own points of view as well as those of the sources and those based on the teaching practice experience about the instrumental teaching's main features and about their own present skill level.
