Objective
The students master typical situations and tasks in the elementary teaching of their instrument. They are familiar with educational material and repertoire used at the stage in question and can assess the usefulness of publications.
Content
Basics of instrumental education. Planning and giving lessons, long-span planning, evaluation, and main stream elementary materials of education.
Qualifications
The students are able to independently prepare music institute level pieces for their instrument (See Association of Finnish Music Schools, http://www.musicedu.fi /). They are mature enough to take responsibility for the long-span training of their students.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Assessment of tutoring teacher. Areas of assessment: general impression, musicianship, assessment skills, interactive skills, command of work methods, skills in individual guidance, guidance in independent work, skills in long-span planning, own growth and progress of pupils. Areas separately specified. Student's self-assessment included.
