Objective

The students command pop/jazz notation. They can write lead-sheet-type scores, partiture and are able to write score for diverse instruments.

Content

Aproximately 30 transcriptions made according to guidance. The transcriptions include diverse popular musical styles

Qualifications

The students command the basics of pop/jazz music score writing.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Praiseworthy 4 - Excellent 5

The students know the features of diverse styles in popular music, the terminology and ways of writing. They are able to write clear and organized music text. They can write diverse types of music text (e.g. lines, scores, partirure and structure sketches). The students write musical text which can be used generally in diverse ensembles for diverse situations.

Good 3

The students are able to write clear music text and manage in the notation of diverse popular music styles. They command the terminology pertaining to
notation and are able to apply it in writing music text

Passable 1 - Satisfactory 2

The students are able to write music text which can be read and to complete the assignments.

Fail 0

The course is failed when the minimal requirements are not met.
