Solfege 2 (pop/jazz) (3cr)

Objective

The students enlarge their pop/jazz solfege skills, command complex melody line, changing time signatures, and are capable of writing down many-voiced musical textures.

Content

Aural and writing skills in melody, rhythm and harmony.

Qualifications

The students command the elements of pop/jazz solfege (KMTT0500): diatonic melody, aural recognition of seventh chords, triple-based rhythms, and ability to write clear score text.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Exam containing melodic, rhythmic and harmonic dictation as well as an item of form analysis.
