Objective
The students are capable of listening to rock, pop and jazz analytically and command transciption skills in these musical styles. They are capable of making transcriptions from improvised solos and to notate formal, harmonic and rhythmic structures that are typical of these styles.
Content
the ability to figure out rock, pop and jazz's typical formal, harmonic and rhythmic structures aurally and to express them in writing
Qualifications
The students command the principles of note writing, are capable of writing "lead sheet"-like short-hand score, and are familiar with light music's forms. These skills can be acquired in Pop/jazz-theory elements KMTT0520 and Pop/jazz-solfege elements KMTT0500
