Objective

The students know the ingredients and production methods of various strong spirits and can conduct sensory evaluation on them. They are familiar with the drinking and serving procedures of strong alcoholic beverages and can make cocktails of them. They master the sensory evaluation of strong spirits.

Content

The markets of strong alcoholic beverages. Distillation methods. Brandies, whiskies, rums, gins, tequilas, vodkas, liqueurs, and their most common mixtures. Sensory evaluation exercises.

Qualifications

The students know the basics of the production of wines and other alcoholic beverages in different countries (MMPR1130 Basics of Wine and Other Alcoholic Beverages).

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Written exam.
Active participation.
