Objective

The students are aware of the history, role and significance of midwifery in society and understand the responsibility of midwifery.
- They act based on the ethical values of midwifery.
- They develop into experts in midwifery by observing their own self-knowledge, independence, responsibility, critical approach, multi-professional cooperation skills and collegiality.
- They master the main knowledge base needed in gynaecological nursing.
- They recognize the special questions of women’s health and master the principles of women’s empowering conselling.
- They consider the ethical questions related to the care of women.
- They understand the significance of sexuality as part of holistic midwifery.
- They are familiar with the disorders related to sexuality, recognize them, and can counsel the client on the first two levels of the PLISSIT model.
- They know the interventions used to promote the sexual and reproductive health of individuals/families/communities.
- They are familiarized with entrepreneurship.

- sexual functional disorders and their treatment
- previous medical history of sexuality, the PLISSIT model
- the history of midwifery, midwife’s profession and competences, the basic values of midwifery, developing midwifery.

Qualifications

The professional studies of the Degree Programme in Nursing 114 cr.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students demonstrate through the items of assessment that they have achieved the learning objectives.
Written assignments are assessed according to separate criteria for written assignments.
