Objective
The students work in a resource-based cooperation relationship with families with young children. Under guidance, the students are responsible for implementing the nursing process in cooperation with families and multiprofessional networks, drawing on evidence-based decision-making. The students master key treatment and examination methods, and they are able to implement drug therapy and the methods of health promotion in family nursing.
                    
Content
Professional practice in family nursing: paediatric wards, paediatric clinics, child health clinics, school health care, child welfare units, mental health nursing units for children and young people
                    
Qualifications
The students have basic capabilities for promoting the health of families and for planning, implementing and evaluating family nursing. They have passed the pharmaceutical calculation test.
                    
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Pass (S): Students
 Comply with the ethical principles of family nursing and the requirements of patient safety
 Together with the children/young people and their families, plan, implement and evaluate nursing in a customer-oriented manner, applying multidisciplinary evidence-based knowledge
 Are skilled in key nursing procedures and the safe use of implements
 Implement safe drug therapy 
 Are able to guide and prepare a patient for key examinations related to family nursing  
 Are capable of oral communication and documentation for the patient record system as required by legislation.
 Under guidance, implement goal-oriented guidance of children, young people and their families in a resource-based manner and drawing on appropriate guidance and teaching material
 Follow the work community rules, act with initiative and demonstrate an ability for cooperation 
 Assess their own actions critically and suggest targets for development.
