Practical training, Basics of nursing (11cr)

Objective

The students have experience of the central nursing interventions, in particular, within the care of elderly patients. They know the basics of aseptics and can apply them in practice. They understand the significance of professional encounter in the care of patients. They are able to identify the stages of the nursing process.

Content

The basic needs and nursing interventions of especially elderly patients.
The basics of aseptics.
Encounter and interaction with, in particular, elderly patients and their relatives.

The students have experience of the application of nursing interventions. They act responsibly during the practice and are able to encounter patients, their relatives and the staff professionally.
