Objective
The students master various central clinical procedures and related basic technology, considering the factors connected with the patient and one's own safety. They understand the significance of infection prevention as part of clinical nursing, the stages of medicines and their effects on the organism, and the most common drug groups. They know what the effects of these drugs are based on and what side-effects and synergism they may have. They are familiar with the use of clinical tests on blood and common body secretions taken in laboratory and radiology examinations as part of holistic care.
Content
Monitoring and maintenance of basic vital functions, clinical procedures, taking samples. Precautions to prevent infections, isolation of patients, topical issues related to hospital hygiene. The most common medicinal groups. Clinical lab tests on blood and secretions, common radiological tests.
Qualifications
The students master central nursing procedures particularly with elderly patients, the basics of anatomy and physiology, and have the basic skills for planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion.
