Objective
The students are aware of and can explain their own professional and ethical choices. The students know the frameworks of professional growth and social ethics and they reflect their own professional and ethical growth and partners' social responsibility with their help. The students develop their own ideological work approach in the promotion of individual, communal and social welfare.
Content
History of work with the disabled, process of professional growth, self-knowledge and ideological work approach, ethics and moral, theories of social ethics, principles of professional ethics in the field, recent value discussion in the field.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
excellent (5): the students participate in contact lessons and seminar and complete the agreed assignments. In written assignments they show the ability to describe and justify the phenomena of the topic. The students follow the instructions of JUA for written assignments.
good (3-4): the students participate in contact lessons and seminar and complete agreed assignments. In written assignments, they show ability to describe and justify the phenomena of the topic by exploiting Finnish sources. The students follow the instructions of JUA for written assignments.
satisfactory (1-2): the students partially participate in contact lessons and seminar. The students complete the agreed assignments. In written assignments, they describe the phenomena of the topic without justifying them and using only some source material. The students partially follow the instructions of JUA for written assignments.
