Objective

The students know the basics of psychological, physical and social development of the child. They know methods of special education so that they can individually and holistically support and guide a child or young person in need of special support in their everyday life coping. The bases of their activities are empowering orientation, ecoculture and communality. In their work, they recognise the starting point of their own values and follow the ethical principles of their profession.

Content

Central contents are the basics of child development, supported early education, practices of special education, methods of special education, individual plans, support of development and everyday life guidance, material production that supports activity.

Qualifications

The students have obtained their goals in the following courses: SSOY0150 Psychology for Social Care, SSOY0250 Special Education and SSEP0200 Special Education in Social Service Work or corresponding skills.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Report on research, participation in contact lessons, and contents of practical training portfolio.
