Assistive Technology Enhancing Clients´ Wellbeing (3cr)

Objective

The students know and are able to use technological applications which enhance the participation of clients/patients, facilitate care and nursing, and promote function. They are familiar with the purchase process of assistive devices and the cooperation partners involved in it.

Content

Accessibility and reachability. The client-oriented applications of wellness technology, including the applications of assistive device technology for all age groups. The Finnish assistive device system. Mobility aids. Safety aids. Communication aids. Patient transfer devices, etc.

Qualifications

The students are able to evaluate the individual needs for help and support of different clients in cooperation with the clients and their networks. They have experience of customer-oriented work in social and health services.
