Objective

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts and applications of social pedagogy in the social welfare and educational field. After completing the course, you will understand the social pedagogical approach and be able to use it in work with different client groups.

Learning outcomes:

You understand the values, principles and working methods of social pedagogy. You can promote equality and equity in society and understand its cultural diversity. You will promote the position of vulnerable individuals and communities.

You are familiar with the social pedagogical approach and know how to use its principles in social and educational work to support the inclusion and well-being of clients.

You are aware of the link between social pedagogical theory and exclusion and the social, community and individual factors of inequality. You are able to promote the inclusion and participation of clients, client groups and communities, and to understand the relationships between the individual, the community and society.

Content

The main content of the course is the knowledge base and working method of social pedagogy. History and tradition, social pedagogical competence, socio-cultural inspiration and methods.

1= You can describe the basics, concepts and application areas of social pedagogy in the field of social welfare and education. You can tell what social pedagogical working method is.

2= You can describe the basics, concepts and application areas of social pedagogy in the field of social welfare and education. You can tell what social pedagogical working method is. You can give examples of using the social pedagogical approach to work with different customer groups.

3= You are able to present the basics, concepts and application areas of social pedagogy in the field of social welfare and education. You are able to apply a social pedagogical approach to customer work. You can explain the practices of utilizing the social pedagogical working method in work with various customer groups.

4= You are able to present the basics, concepts and application areas of social pedagogy in the field of social and education. You are able to analyse and apply the social pedagogical approach to customer work. You are able to assess how the social pedagogical working method is used in work with different customer groups.

5= You can present and interpret the basics, concepts and application areas of social pedagogy more broadly in the field of social welfare and education. You are able to analyse and apply the social pedagogical approach to customer work. You are able to evaluate and justify how the social pedagogical working method is used in work with different customer groups.
