Chemistry (3cr)

Objective

The students are familiar with the ways the amount of substance and concentration are expressed, can calculate amounts of substance, their volumes or masses, and master the calculation of concentration. They understand combustion and can calculate required amount of fuel, air, the volume of produced combustion gas, the mass of a given component, or a produced amount of energy. They know the basics of electrical chemistry and the operating principle of accumulators or batteries. They understand the danger of chemical exposure in their work environment and are able to handle hazards professionally.

The structure of substance, the periodic system, the amount of substance, the concentration of liquids, combustion, fuels, energy contents, electrochemical pairs, energy storage, hazardous materials, plastics.
