Pneumatics (5cr)

Objective

The students understand the operation, use and design of a pneumatic system in automation applications. The students can independently design a small-scale pneumatic system and connect it to a control system.

Content

Graphic symbols of pneumatics and hydraulics, developing compressed air, pneumatic components, pneumatic switching technique and pneumatic systems. Design and switching of a pneumatic system to an automation system. Control of a pneumatic system with a programmable logic. Laboratory work.

Qualifications

The students master the basic concepts and contents and natural laws of the physics of states of matter, thermology and heat transfer, being also able to apply them.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) the student has attained the objectives of the course at an excellent level.
Good (3-4) the student has attained the objectives of the course at a satisfactory level.
Satisfactory (1-2) as a rule, the student has attained the objectives of the course.
