Objective

The students have a basic knowledge of the strength of materials and are able to perform static analysis for simple structures with the help of handbooks and table cases. They are able to form a mechanical model on analysed structures and determine their loads, stresses and deformations. They can identify the cases requiring more exact and deeper strength analysis.

Content

Balance of particle and rigid object. Lattices, beam structures, link mechanisms. Loads. Stresses and deformations caused by normal and shear force and by bending and rotative moment. Buckling.
