Materials Engineering (5cr)

Objective

The students have basic knowledge of materials engineering and know how to influence the properties of materials with different treatments and alloying, and thus their applications in machine building. They know different material groups, their properties and most common uses in the applications of technology.
They can use this information in the treatment and selection of materials.

Content

Material properties and their testing. Building up metal and its internal structure. Heat treatments. Material groups.
