Objective

The students understand the principles of maintenance operations management in industry, especially from the point of view of maintenance information management. They are familiar with the characteristics of downtime planning with respect to maintenance in a production plant. They understand and are able to develop the phases of the introduction and use of maintenance operations management or information systems. They perceive the organising models of maintenance, maintenance as a service activity and as an outsourced operations model. They can determine and utilise maintenance indicators and understand the role of continuous improvement as part of the development of maintenance.

The operations models and management of maintenance, its organisation. Maintenance as an outsourcing service and as an outsourced activity. Downtime planning. Maintenance operations management systems and their basic functions. Utilisation of maintenance history data. Maintenance indicators. Continuous inprovement as part of maintenance. Development trends in maintenance.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) the student has attained the objectives of the course at an excellent level.
Good (3-4) the student has attained the objectives of the course at a satisfactory level.
Satisfactory (1-2) as a rule, the student has attained the objectives of the course.
