Papermaking (5cr)

Objective

The students understand end use requirements for paper quality, know the raw materials, additives and fillers used in paper making, as well as the basics of the production processes of fibre materials. They are able to identify different paper and cardboard grades and are familiar with the technology and raw materials used in their production.

Content

Production of mechanical, chemical and deinked pulp, pulp processing in paper mills, paper and cardboard grades, fillers and additives, and the quality properties of paper.
