Plant Design (10cr)

Objective

The students understand paper mill operations as a whole, inbound and outbound logistics, and know how to utilise acquired theory and skills in plant design. They understand the phases of mill design and their relations, are able to design the layout solutions of different departments of a paper mill, and are able to work as designers in larger projects. They are able to design tube systems and choose their components.

Content

Paper machine layout design, logistics, construction technology, electrical systems. Design of tube systems and fittings. The design phases of a paper mill.

Qualifications

Process Design, 3D-Modelling

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) the student has attained the objectives of the course at an excellent level.
Good (3-4) the student has attained the objectives of the course at a satisfactory level.
Satisfactory (1-2) as a rule, the student has attained the objectives of the course.
